Product Overview
The DS steel bucket (deep bottom type) is a high-strength elevator bucket designed for bulk material handling. Compared with the DQ shallow type, the DS bucket features a deeper bottom, making it suitable for applications requiring stable material handling and reliable discharge.
Our steel buckets are manufactured using a whole stamping (deep drawing) process, forming the bucket in one piece without welding joints. This seamless construction ensures higher structural integrity and eliminates weak points typically found in welded buckets.
Seamless one-piece design ensures higher strength compared with welded buckets.
Manufacturing Process & Advantages
Unlike welded buckets, DS steel buckets are produced through a deep-drawn stamping process, which provides:
- One-piece seamless construction (no welding marks)
- Higher overall strength and rigidity
- Improved abrasion resistance
- Longer service life under demanding conditions
The smooth internal and external surfaces also help improve material discharge performance and reduce material buildup.
Due to the material characteristics of steel, the bucket depth is slightly lower than that of plastic buckets. As a result, the “C” dimension remains close between models such as DS1314 and DQ1314, making them suitable for similar applications.
We offer all standard sizes in both carbon steel and stainless steel. For stainless steel buckets requiring a larger “C” dimension, thicker plate material can be used to ensure the required forming depth despite its lower elongation.
Material Options
We offer DS steel buckets in:
- Carbon steel
- Stainless steel
Although stainless steel has a lower elongation rate, we are still able to manufacture all standard sizes. For applications requiring deeper profiles, thicker material can be used to meet performance requirements.
Key Performance Characteristics
- The bucket is manufactured using a one-piece deep drawing (stamping) process, providing superior structural integrity and enhanced abrasion resistance.
- It is suitable for a wide range of operating temperatures, including high-temperature environments.
- The high surface hardness allows it to handle materials with sharp edges effectively.
- It is designed for heavy-duty material handling applications.
- It can be used together with plastic buckets in the same elevator system to improve efficiency, with proper attention to system balance.

Stainless Steel Elevator Bucket
Why Are Stainless Steel Elevator Buckets More Expensive?
Stainless steel elevator buckets are generally more expensive due to both material and manufacturing factors:
1. Higher Raw Material Cost
Stainless steel is significantly more expensive than carbon steel, which directly impacts the base cost of the bucket.
2. More Challenging Manufacturing Process
Compared to carbon steel, stainless steel has lower elongation, making it more difficult to form during the stamping process. This increases the risk of defects such as cracking or surface imperfections.
However, they offer superior corrosion resistance and longer service life in demanding environments.
As a result, the production process typically has a higher rejection (scrap) rate, which contributes to the overall cost.
In Summary
The price of stainless steel buckets is not determined by material cost alone, but also by the increased manufacturing complexity.
However, we are able to produce all standard sizes listed, ensuring reliable supply for your application needs.
