A few Tips for Ordering Z Bucket Elevator Bucket and Chain!

Let’s take DL4013 Z bucket elevator bucket and chain as an example.

Application

Our DL series elevator bucket is commonly used for Z elevator bucket elevator. Here are the drawing for DL4013 bucket.

Bucket Materials

HDPE: Usually our plastic elevator bucket is made by HDPE like D series and CC series etc. But our DL series elevator bucket can not be made by HDPE material. DL Z bucket elevator bucket which made by HDPE is easy for deformation. The lines of the mouth area is not straight. The operation is easy to falling down while the material elevator handling.

PP: Our PP material DL elevate bucket is Food Grade. This is mostly used by this kind of elevator bucket for Z elevator. The shrinkage of the PP bucket is uniform, so then the shape of bucket is beauty.

Nylon: Nylon is not often used in this series of buckets. Because the shrinkage of nylon material is relatively low. So the size of the bucket made of nylon is larger than that made of other materials. This cause the nylon bucket can not be easily to well cooperate with our chain.

ABS: Buckets made of ABS material have good impact resistance. ABS buckets are all in good performance except the price is expensive.

Working Conditions in Cold and Hot area

Cold circumtance: PP materials are rarely used in cold areas because PP materials have poor cold brittleness performance. While in cold weather, it breaks easily. But in some cold places, the workshop is air-conditioned, so then it can not be used in this case. Usually when the temperature is below MINUS 10 degrees the PP bucket can’t be used at all.

Hot circumtance: PTFE, Nylon is anti-hot. Nylon bucket can be worked max. 80-90°C, PTFE can be under 120°C. HDPE/PP mateirals will be softer while the temperature reaches to 60

Hot circumtance: PTFE, Nylon are anti-hot materials. Nylon buckets can be worked max. 80-90°C, PTFE can be under 120°C. HDPE/PP mateirals will be softer while the temperature reaches to 60°C, at that time, the bucket perfomance will be decreasing dramatically. You can choose the buckets materials by your working conditions.

Transportaion Problem

When we transport the buckets, they are piled one by one together, so they are easy to deform. In addition, most of our products are exported to other countries, during the long-distance sea transportation, the temperature will become higher, so its deformation will be accelerated. We will be very careful when packing. We will enlarge the size of the package. The chain is on the bottom the package and our buckets will be on the top of the chain.

Chain Materials

According to different working conditions and financial budget we have three different material chains.

Full stainless steel type

Plate SS304, Pin SS304, Roller SS304

It is all good just expensive.

Alloy steel with Nickle plated

Plate 40Mn nickle plated, Pin 40Cr nickle plated, Roller could be alloy steel with nickle plated or SS201 stainless steel.

This is a economic plan, it is also good for use.

Commonly we will use SS201 low cost stainless steel for the roller instead of nickle plated surface. Because during the running of the chain and the sprocket, the nickle surface will be worn out.

In fact, this is a favorite combination of users. Why? This is because the noise of nylon material is relatively low and its self-lubricating function is relatively good. But as we said above when we talked about the bucket, nylon can’t be used when it is under the cold condition. Its cold brittleness is relatively low and it is easy to break and damage while the temperature is low.

The roller needs to match with the teeth sprocket, so the metal material is better. The metal material is also anti-high temperature.
